About the Role
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the financial health of our European operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and business operations. You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management while implementing best practices in financial processes. Leading a team, you will provide strategic insights, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance financial decision-making. Your expertise will be key in shaping financial strategies, mitigating risks, and supporting the company’s growth trajectory.
What You’ll Do:
· Oversee all company accounts and investments.
· Prepare monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
· Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and reviewing internal reports.
· Supervise and lead the finance and operations teams, including the Finance Executive and Operations Team Lead.
· Drive team performance through role clarity and constructive feedback.
· Suggest and implement improvements to accounting systems, payroll, and invoicing processes.
· Ensure accurate recording, filing, and reporting of financial transactions.
· Establish financial reporting systems in compliance with government regulations.
· Collaborate with auditors to maintain regulatory compliance.
· Develop budgets and financial plans based on data-driven insights.
· Monitor financial reports to detect and prevent discrepancies.
· Implement robust systems to enhance accuracy in data collection and financial calculations.
· Identify cost-saving opportunities by regularly reviewing budgets and financial plans.
· Provide timely and accurate financial reports to the CFO and support presentations to stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For:
· A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
· Extensive experience in a business or finance environment.
· Proven leadership and management skills.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· High attention to detail, reliability, and integrity.
· Knowledge of Sage Intacct and post-Brexit VAT rules is beneficial.
· Proficiency in financial software and understanding of data privacy standards.
